February 20, 2022 - Sunday Science Project

Who doesn't like a good science experiment on a Sunday morning?! 🤓 This morning's "feels like" temperature of -49C (ambient temperature of -39C) made for an excellent opportunity to test how quickly boiled water freezes in these temperatures.

Trial 1 - not sure what to expect:

Trial 2 - a little more umph behind the toss:

Trial 3 - two cups of water:

Forms an interesting ice shield... 🤔

Trial 4 - throwing about 1.5 litres all at once:

A larger volume of water certainly makes for a more impressive ice formation!

Honestly, I don't know why we haven't done this before - so much fun! 🤓🤪

On our way back, we saw a beautiful sunrise. All in all, pretty great start to the day if you ask me!
