May 23, 2022 - Sun, Rain and Snow - It Must Be May Long

We had the perfect May Long trifecta - sun, rain, and snow all while camping!
Our first visit to Reid Lake Territorial Park. We chose a walk in site...but had to make a few trips back and forth to pack in all our things. 😬
It was a pretty nice set up!
We hiked to Cameron Falls to see what it's like when it isn't winter. 🤪
We also visited Cameron Ramparts as the clouds started to roll in.
Ryan set up his fancy new tarp so we had some shelter from the rain just in case...boy did we need it!
On Sunday the rain changed to the more frozen variety. ❄️🌨 Thankfully it didn't end up sticking! Just made for a chilly day. We decided it would be a good opportunity to drive to the end of the Ingraham Trail... or the beginning of the Tibbit to Contwoyto winter road.
Remnants of the ice road still on the lake.
On the way back to the camp site we saw this guy.
Although we didn't get photos, we also saw bald eagles, hawks, swans and mosquitoes. 🦟 On Sunday night we had a nice campfire to keep warm and roast some hotdogs.
And in true May Long fashion, the sun came out just in time to pack up and head back to town.
